Animated Ad Maker: Motion Graphics Ads Without a Designer

An animated ad maker makes ads that move without a motion designer. Most make one of two things: animated banners for websites, or motion graphics video ads for feeds such as Reels and TikTok.

Animated ad maker

In short

  • A banner is an HTML5 or GIF file that runs on websites. Google limits its animation to 30 seconds and lets only established accounts upload HTML5 banners.1
  • A video ad is an MP4 for Reels, Stories, TikTok and the feeds: 9:16 or square, with a voice and music.23
  • Without a designer there are three ways: fill a template, animate by keyframes, or let an engine draft the ad from your link. 10xvid does the third, and your first ad is free.4

Is an animated ad a banner or a video?

They share a name but are different files for different places. Know which one you need before you pick a tool. Each tool below says on its own page which it makes.

An animated ad is a banner or a video: a banner in HTML5 or GIF for websites, with Google's 30 second rule, and a video ad as an MP4 for Reels, Stories and TikTok
Two files, two places, two sets of rules. Google's banner rules and Meta's and TikTok's video specs, read on 20 October 2026.

The Brief, formerly Creatopy, covers both: it exports animated designs "as HTML5, MP4, GIF, or AMPHTML" from "4,000+ animated templates".5 SVGator exports video ads "for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Google Ads, and more".6 Animaker's ad maker is for "Online Video Ads".7

What are Google's rules for animated banner ads?

Google's display ad specs set the limits, and an ad that breaks them is disapproved.1

  • "Animation length must be 30 seconds or shorter." A banner can loop, but "the animations must stop after 30 seconds".
  • "Animated GIF ads must be slower than 5 FPS."
  • An HTML5 ad must be "600 KB or smaller".
  • HTML5 ads are only for established accounts: open more than 90 days, more than US$9,000 spent in all, and a good policy history.

The last rule matters most for a new app. Until your account qualifies, you can upload image and GIF banners to Google, but not HTML5 ones.

What does an animated video ad need in a feed?

It has to work in the first seconds and with the sound off. TikTok's advice is to "Introduce your content proposition in the first 3 seconds" and to use captions or text on screen.8 Meta recommends 9:16 for Reels and Stories. It asks you to keep text and key elements away from the top 14% and the bottom 35% of a Reels ad.2

Motion graphics fit those rules, because the words are the picture. Here is a 15-second ad 10xvid made for Typally, a voice typing app, in kinetic type.

An ad 10xvid made for Typally: 15 seconds, 9:16, all type and the app's own screens. It plays muted here.

Every word in it is set as type, so it is sharp and readable on a phone. The message is in the motion itself: the fillers are struck out, and the clean sentence lands in the apps people use.

How do you make an animated ad without a designer?

Three ways, by how much design is left to you.

  1. Fill a template. Animaker starts from templates you edit: the text, the images, a voice. Its free plan adds a watermark.7 The Brief offers presets such as "Slide Right, Slide Left, Grow".5
  2. Animate by keyframes. SVGator has you "Draw or import designs, add keyframes, adjust timing, and preview your animation". Its free plan exports still SVGs; animated exports need a paid plan.69 This is the closest to a designer's own tool, and it asks for a designer's time.
  3. Let an engine draft it from your link. 10xvid reads your site, writes a blueprint of the ad, and draws every frame from your real pictures, colours and type.4

The third way still lets you choose the look. Motion V1 works in a hundred styles, such as kinetic typography, whiteboard, comic book, paper cut-outs, soft 3D and art deco. Or it uses your site's own design. A company's next ad is told its last three, so no two come out alike.4

![mariusson's ad: the line no algorithm deciding who sees your work, a red monolith, artworks floating in a dark space, mariusson is a universe of unfiltered art, a signature, and bring something you made](/media/v1/mariusson.mp4#portrait-loop "An ad 10xvid made for mariusson, "a universe of unfiltered art": 15 seconds, 9:16, the site's own artworks moving in one 3D space. It plays muted here.")

Where it stops: Motion V1 draws from what your site shows, with no stock footage, so a physical product needs its own photos on the site. For a person on camera, 10xvid's UGC style has a generated presenter say the hook first.4

Where 10xvid fits

10xvid, motion graphics ads for apps, makes the second kind of animated ad: the video for Reels, Stories, TikTok and the feeds. It comes in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 from one run, 5 to 30 seconds long. Motion V1 Flash makes a flat, clean motion graphics film in one pass of about five minutes.4 There is more on what motion graphics ads are, with examples.

Can I make an animated ad for free?

Yes, with limits. Animaker's free plan adds a watermark, and SVGator's free plan exports still images only.79 10xvid's first ad is a finished 15-second video, free, with no card.11
